Heaviest snow above 5000 feet. * WHERE...West Slopes North Central Cascades and Passes and West Slopes South Central Cascades and Passes. * WHEN...Until 4 PM PST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...4 to 6 inches of new snow at Snoqualmie Pass before the snow changes to rain Saturday morning.

* WHAT...Sneaker waves possible. * WHERE...North and Central Coast of Oregon, and South Washington Coast. * WHEN...Through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Waves can run up significantly farther on a beach than normal, including over rocks and jetties. Sneaker waves can suddenly knock people off of their feet and quickly pull them into the frigid ocean which may lead to serious injury or drowning.

* WHAT...Wet snow above 4000 feet. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches, with the highest snow amounts above 5000 feet. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph. * WHERE...South Washington Cascades and the Northern and Central Cascades of Oregon. * WHEN...Until 7 PM PST this evening. * IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult at times. Be prepared for snow covered roads and slick surfaces. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...An active storm track will continue to produce accumulating snow across the passes in the Cascades into this weekend. However, there are two time periods when snow levels will likely rise to 5000-5500 feet and be far enough above the passes to temporarily limit snow accumulations. The first window where snow levels will rise above the passes will occur between 3 AM Friday and 9 AM Friday. Another round of warmer air aloft will most likely push snow levels above the passes Friday night as well.

Skokomish River At Potlatch affecting Mason County. .Rounds of rain over the Olympics will keep the Skokomish River above flood stage through the weekend. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Skokomish River at Potlatch. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 16.5 feet, the Skokomish River will cause widespread flooding of pasture lands, with water flowing quickly over West Bourgault Road and Skokomish Valley Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 PM PST Thursday the stage was 17.4 feet. - Flood stage is 16.5 feet. - The river crested at 17.5 feet around 5 PM Thursday. - Forecast...The river is expected to remain between 17 and 17.4 feet into Saturday morning. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Skokomish River At Potlatch affecting Mason County. .The Skokomish River will rise into Moderate flood stage this afternoon then slowly recede into Minor flood stage tonight. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Skokomish River at Potlatch. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, the Skokomish River will cause moderate flooding, with deep and quick flood waters inundating some residential areas, many roads, and much of the farm land in the Skokomish Valley. ESFSEW Additional frontal systems will bring precipitation to Western Washington at times through the weekend. While precipitation will be much less with the systems beginning Friday, the lack of much of a break will keep rivers over the Southwest Interior rising into the weekend. The potential for the lower reaches of the Chehalis River to flood on Saturday continues to be monitored. Please monitor the latest river forecasts from the National Weather Service for additional information.
